ALTAR SERVERS
The altar server is a male or female member of the parish who assists the priest
and deacon during the Eucharist and other liturgical ceremonies so the liturgy
can be conducted with grace and reverence. Altar servers should be active and
full participants in the celebration of mass, which includes singing and praying.
Any boy or girl in fifth (5) grade and up who has received First Holy Communion and is interested in being an altar server should
contact the rectory at (717) 243-4411.
LECTORS
A Lector is a member of the parish who reads the first two readings and sometimes also
leads the responsorial psalm at a mass.
If you are interested in becoming a lector, please call the rectory at (717) 243-4411.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS
A Extraordinary Minister is a person of the parish that is authorized to distribute
holy communion at masses or in special circumstances. Those interested in becoming a
Extraordinary Minister will need to attend a workshop, which is usually scheduled through
the Diocese of Harrisburg. Once the workshop is completed, there is a one-time training
session held within the parish. The new Extraordinary Ministers will then be commissioned
at a Mass scheduled by the priest.
If you are interested in becoming a Extraordinary Minister, please call the rectory
at (717) 243-4411.
USHERS
These people try to greet the community as they arrive for Mass. Their other
responsibilities are taking up the collection at Mass making sure everyone is
comfortably seated at mass.
If you wish to become an usher, please call the rectory at (717) 243-4411.
