Life Teen is an international Catholic ministry, founded in Mesa, AZ, in 1985. Since then, it has spread to over 22 countries, and over 1,200 parishes. It is a comprehensive youth ministry program based on, focused on, and directed toward the Eucharist. Each week teens gather at a Life Teen Mass and Life Night program to experience fully the greatest gift we have as a Catholic Church. While 100% Catholic, Life Teen is open to teens of any faith in grades 9 - 12.

Life Teen was established at Saint Patrick Church in October 2008. The Life Teen Mass is celebrated each Sunday at 5:00 PM at our Marsh Drive church. While open to everyone, womb to tomb, the Mass has a particular teen focus in regards to the music and the direction of the homily. The Life Night follows at 6:30 PM, with pizza served immediately following the Life Teen Mass. The nights conclude at approximately 8:00 PM.

Life Teen is for high school teens. Parents interested in observing a program are asked to contact Heather Ann Howie, in advance, for arrangements.

Our goal is to lead teens closer to Christ.

Life Teen Yearly Events - (Click to learn more)
Life Teen Leadership Conference

The annual Life Teen Leadership Conference is Catholic teen leadership training and development at its finest. Held at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS, hundreds of teens experience the richness, beauty and depth of our Catholic faith like never before. LTLC is only open to teens entering their junior or senior year of high school. An application and interview process is required as only a very limited number of teens are selected to attend each year.

This year's conference will be held June 25-June 29, 2012. The deadline for registration has passed. Next year's registrations will take place in December.

Steubenville Youth Conference

Over 38,000 teens attend one of 19 Steubenville Youth Conferences around the country. The opportunity to gather with a few thousand peers, with a focus on the Eucharist is something that most teens consider the best experience of their lives. This weekend retreat conference will challenge teens to stand firm in their faith, to rely on Christ as their Savior, friend and guide; and give them tools to show their faith to the world.

This year 51 teens and chaperones are planning to attend the Steubenville Conference at Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH from July 13-15, 2012. Registration for next year's conference will take place in December.

This retreat will look at the power of music as well as the honest prayer given to us in the Psalms. Each session will be built around a different genre of music and will focus on a different Psalm. The teens will be challenged to enter into honest, intimate prayer with their Creator and Savior through the Sacraments, Scripture, prayer, worship and community. This is an amazing opportunity you don't want to miss!

World Youth Day Celebration on Palm Sunday

Every year in which the world does not gather together for World Youth Day, the Bishop calls teens from around the Diocese of Harrisburg to a day of praise, worship, Mass, and entertainment. One thousand teens from around the area meet on the steps of the Capitol for praise and worship, before processing to the Cathedral for Mass presided by the Bishop. Afterwards everyone walks to Strawberry Square for dinner, an evening of entertainment, and a chance to hang out with friends and the Bishop.

The next World Youth Day Celebration on Palm Sunday takes place on April 1, 2012. Registration and permission slips are available now. The cost for this event this year is $12.00 which includes transportation, events and dinner. Please check for forms and permission slips and see the bulletin for more information and registration information.
