Objectives

1. To provide a context where the individual may learn about God and his creative love.
2. To help form a person who is aware of his/her dignity and responsibility as a Catholic Christian.
3. To assist each family in the parish in the religious education of its members.
4. To provide a basic knowledge of Catholic doctrine and the practices of our Faith.

Standards

St. Patrick’s religious education program (CCD) is designed to comply with standards set by the Diocesan Education Office and the United States Council of Catholic Bishops.

Schedule

The religious education (CCD) year normally begins on the Wednesday following the third Sunday of September. This Sunday is Catechetical Sunday. On this day the Parish commissions the Catechists (teachers) and then we begin the Religious Education year. Classes are dismissed for holidays and other Holy days of obligation. The program closes near the end of April. A detailed schedule is distributed in calendar format.

Registration

Because of the significant number of families that move in and out of the parish area each year it is necessary that every new family register for religious education as soon as possible and each existing family must re-register. The re-registration forms will be mailed to families or you may down load them from this website. Re-registration MUST be returned by the end of June. We will not register a child on the first CCD night. There is a fee for religious education (CCD), which is reduced compared to the cost to educate each child. If for a good reason you cannot pay the fee please see the Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) and register your child.

Home Program

The parish offers a home program in religious education that uses the same material and textbooks as the CCD program. The children in the home program are responsible for the same text standards as children in the CCD program. Please contact the religious education office for more information. The fee for this program is the same as the regular CCD program.

Home School

Students who are home schooled in a Catholic Home School program must register with the Religious Education Program so that you will be informed about Sacrament Programs. You may use the programs that you choose but you must participate in the Parish programs for Sacrament Preparation. There is no fee for this.
