The Church has always ministered to those who are grieving and calls each member of Christ's Body to participate in the ministry of consolation…

To care for the dying…to pray for the dead…to comfort all who mourn

Today more and more parishes are responding to the needs of those who grieve the death of a loved one to help them know the comfort and care of God through their Church. Recognizing the need for a formal bereavement ministry at our own parish, a team of St. Patrick's parishioners was formed and trained in October of 1999 to add this vital ministry to our growing parish.

Today we offer the following types of consolation support:

  • Monthly Support Group - Contact Cheryl Sheedy at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania (800) 889-1098
    • Meetings for Adults and Teens; the last Monday of the month at the St. Katharine Drexel Hall.
Home Visitation - Contact Anne Ireland (717) 254-6437 Card Sending - Contact Diane Gill (717) 243-5884
    • Fives times the first year.
  • Prayer Service/Mass - Contact
    • Annually; for all who experienced a death of a loved one.
